Today is a good day! I’m fucking stoked to share something I’ve been heavily involved in bringing to life for the day job. (p.s. I love my job)

I feel like I need to mention this ahead of sharing, but this post is not endorsed by the company I work for, nor is it some sort of ad. I’m just so thankful to be part of a team and work on projects I think are cool.

I am a design LOVER if you can’t tell from my posts. Interiors especially, but just homes and spaces in general. I happen to work for a specialty paint company so I am fully immersed in the design world every day. I am now officially the Brand Content Coordinator, but in my time with the company I have worn many hats. I started in customer service where I learned the ins-and-outs of the products we make, but also so much about the company as a whole. I am super curious and highly visual, so I was always drawn to the identification of imagery that features our products, and loved to be able to share them with inquiring minds. However, over the past (nearly a) year I have been assisting with all sorts of design projects in the background.

One of which is the new Specialty Finishes Color Card Set! It’s a beautiful and easy quick glance of Portola Paints Roman Clay and Lime Wash colors.

The company has always offered various sample options, but this type of quick glance, full collection reference has been missing for a while. When I worked in customer service, this was the type of entry-level sample option I wish existed. This has been in the works for months, and I am finally able to scream from the rooftops PLEASE GO BUY ONE BECAUSE THEY’RE SO PRETTY AND COOL AND USEFUL!… only if you like the products, of course...

Getting something like this to market is a team effort, don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that it was just a me thing, but I was heavily involved. Everything from designing the layout of the entire thing and making design edits per request, to providing files to the producer, to coordinating production, to sourcing envelopes for them to arrive in. I’ve touched almost every part of the project and I am just proud. I just hope our customers love them and find them helpful!

Now, I’m curious… have you ever used Lime Wash or Roman Clay? If so, I want to talk. Lord knows I could talk about my love for these products for hours!
